SUE ROCK ORIGINALS EVERYONE HOLDS MLK DAY VOLUNTEER EVEN

Come on over and sew, knit, crochet and embroider as we create QUILTS FOR SURVIVORS!
1069 Bergen Street between Nostrand and Rogers Avenues in Brooklyn, NY
Join your fellow New Yorkers in making warm quilts for families living in domestic-violence shelters. Often these women and children have had to flee their homes with nothing. Help provide them with bedding that is functional -- but also a labor of love.
We will have work for sewers (machines provided), embroiderers, knitters and crocheters (bring big needles/hooks if you can, but not required), photographers, videographers, bloggers, and people who just want to help by sorting yarn/fabric, keeping the operation running smoothly, etc. Yarn, fabric and snacks provided.
If you have a particular skill you want to mention, please add it in the comment section.
UPDATE: Given the overwhelming response, we will be dividing the day into two shifts.
This event is co-hosted by Brooklyn for Barack and Downtown East for Obama.
